Senior Policy Officer, Music and Screen Fixed term: Until 31 December 2025Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available)Usual work location: 121 Exhibition Street, Melbourne (flexibility may be available)The Role The primary objective of this role is to provide high level policy advice in relation to growing Victoria's screen and music sectors, undertake strategic projects and collaborate with other areas of Creative Victoria, the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry & Regions (DJSIR), creative agencies, other departments and industry more broadly.
Key accountabilities include: Provide high level strategic advice on the effectiveness of screen portfolio, policies, programs and services. Identify and respond to new and emerging issues with consideration for their longer-term implications for the State.Manage and contribute to broader creative industries policy, delivery and strategic research projects and evaluations relating to the screen and music portfolios, managing risks and issues.Provide authoritative policy advice on current and potential issues in the screen and music sectors in local, national and international contexts.The Team The position of Senior Policy Officer, Music and Screen forms a part of the Music and Screen Team, of the Strategy and Delivery branch within the Creative Victoria Group.
Creative Victoria is the state government body dedicated to championing, growing and supporting Victoria's creative industries. The groups invest in the ideas, talent, organisations, events and projects that make Victoria a creative state. Creative Victoria also oversees the State's $7 billion-plus portfolio of creative and cultural facilities, assets and collections, including Victoria's iconic public cultural institutions which welcome more than 10 million visitors a year.
The branch brings Creative Victoria's programs and investment in support of artists, creative workers, creative organisations and businesses, and portfolio agencies, together with our work to improve access to affordable space and deliver world-class creative infrastructure.
About You The successful applicant for this position will enjoy undertaking a wide variety of work, possess highly developed conceptual skills with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, working knowledge of Australia's screen and music sectors, and a broad knowledge of the Government and industry environment in which Creative Victoria operates.
