We partner with the states and territories on the delivery of reforms and provide advice on economic, and energy market trends in the transition to net zero. We work to ensure all consumers and communities benefit equitably from the transition and to support the development of a future energy workforce.The Energy System Reform Branch is driving reform in planning and governance of energy systems, including through ensuring that markets work for consumers and support electrification. We work across Government and closely with states, territories, market bodies and industry to transform our systems to reflect the increasingly integrated approach required for Australia's energy markets to deliver on our climate goals. The key duties of the position include: Policy analysis:Conduct research and analysis on current energy policies, trends, and best practice.Critically analyse issues and provide insights and recommendations.Project management and coordination:Coordinate and manage priority activities, including Budget processes, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met.Draft policy briefs, Cabinet submissions, reports, and presentations.Summarise and present findings and policy implications.Stakeholder engagement:Facilitate and participate in meetings with stakeholders including other government officials (internal and external), senior executive and ministers' offices. Minimum Requirements: Citizenship - To be eligible for employment with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water you must be an Australian citizen.Security Clearance - This position requires a Baseline Vetting security clearance. You will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.Pre-employment Check - Your suitability for employment will be assessed through a pre-employment screening process.
