Want to be part of it?Utilise your Analytical expertise to provide support and advice to the Ministerial Services, Policy Reform and Programs branchAn Ongoing, Full-Time opportunity to work with a high-performing and passionate team in the Victorian Public ServiceAbout the Business Unit:Police, Racing, Victims and Coordination (PRVC) group is responsible for leading key policy reform and programs across the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS). It enhances community safety and wellbeing through public policy, governance, legislative advice, reform and grants, bringing together all policy and reform functions aligned to the Police, Crime Prevention, Victims and Racing portfolios.Ministerial Services, Policy Reform and Programs (MSPRP) comprise several business units, including: Ministerial Services and Coordination, Policy Reform and Programs and Redress Design. These business units are responsible for providing critical departmental and Ministerial coordination support and delivering essential family violence programs and crime prevention grants. MSPRP is also responsible for delivery of priority justice policy reforms in line with departmental and Ministerial priorities. It also leads on crime prevention, family violence and the public intoxication reforms. MSPRP teams work in a dynamic environment, requiring agile policy teams to respond to key priorities as they arise.About the Role:As the Senior Policy Officer, you will be responsible to ensure sound policy and strategy advice is provided to senior departmental executives including through key coordination activities.Some of your duties will include:Leading, with limited direction, department-wide coordination and engagement activities that assist in the development of strategic coordination advice to relevant Ministers and departmental executives on a wide variety of issuesProviding sound expertise to a team working on key coordination activities, to ensure development of considered briefings, advice and delivery of project objectivesEnsuring that programs and projects are successfully delivered, through proactively identifying and managing project risks, and by designing and implementing systems and frameworks to effectively manage project deliverablesTo learn more about this role before applying, please read the attached position description.About You:As our ideal candidate, you will possess:Strong conceptual and analytical skills with a particular ability to analyse complex policy issues and provide accurate and strategic adviceSound knowledge of Government and of Cabinet and Parliamentary processesThe ability to translate strategies into programs or projects that enable achievement of outcomes required while defining governance e.g. success measures, roles and responsibilities, progress monitoring required to manage risks and maximise probability of success.Qualifications/Requirements:A tertiary qualification in a related discipline would be highly desirable.How to Apply:Please click the Apply button on this advertisement.
