The Senior Policy Officer supports the Water Service Delivery Improvements team in ensuring the ongoing effective governance and compliance of Victoria's Water Portfolio entities.
This role includes undertaking in-depth research and analysis on the performance of Victoria's Water Portfolio entities, to ensure a proactive response to emerging compliance obligations.
This results in provision of strategic advice and the preparation of various products, such as guidance on administration and public entity compliance, assessment of individual water entity compliance, sector-wide regulations and legislative amendments, and compliance monitoring reports.
Establishing and sustaining strong working relationships with industry stakeholders within DEECA and across government as well as within the Water Portfolio entities is crucial for the successful implementation of best practice compliance monitoring and reporting, as well as the provision of guidance support.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications * A tertiary qualification (or working towards a qualification) in accounting, business, finance, economics, business administration or equivalent (desirable).
* A sound understanding of and experience in the public sector, including knowledge and experience with the structure of government and decision-making processes (desirable).
* Demonstrated understanding of Victorian water frameworks (desirable).
This is a fixed term position available for a period of 2 Years.
The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
