An exciting opportunity exists for a bright, highly motivated and publicly minded professional to join the Justice and Public Administration group in the Governance branch as Senior Policy Officer, Institutions of Government at the Department of Premier and Cabinet.
The Institutions of Government Team offers an opportunity to work at the centre of the Victorian Government on topical and challenging issues relating to our institutions of government, parliamentary standards and integrity, and the application of Westminster conventions in Victoria.
As a Senior Policy Officer, you will work in a fast-paced and dynamic policy environment, in a small team among passionate, supportive and engaged peers, and across the broader Victorian public sector.
The team contains deep public administration expertise and includes specialists in areas including governance and law.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the inner workings of government and develop your strategic thinking and engagement skills while contributing to a variety of reform initiatives.

Demonstrated experience in leading policy, projects or legislation with the ability to quickly analyse and critically evaluate information.Strong influence and negotiation skills, including identifying and using channels to gain the attention of decision makers.Highly developed communication skills, including the ability to deliver a wide range of written and verbal briefings on a range of complex and sensitive issues.Excellent planning and organising skills, including demonstrated ability to assess, prioritise and complete objectives in a fast-paced environment.Strong flexibility and adaptability, including the ability to work independently in a dynamic and complex environment and embracing ambiguity and seeking clarity as required.How to applyApply before the advertised closing date.
