Group/Division/Branch Commercial DivisionThe Commercial Division is accountable for providing advice on the state's financial assets and liabilities, along with oversight of the Government's business enterprises. It takes a lead role in overseeing significant government commercial transactions, providing both transaction advisory services and advice. Additionally, the Division manages workplace safety, housing related funds and loan schemes, and the regulatory function that provides oversight of the performance of the community housing sector in Victoria.
About the role The Workplace Safety Reform team supports the Minister for WorkSafe and the TAC in the delivery of an ambitious policy agenda and key strategic reforms. This includes areas such as psychological health and sexual harassment reforms, improvements to Victoria's workers' compensation system and a range of policy, legislative, and regulatory changes to improve safety in the workplace. The branch works closely with WorkSafe Victoria, and other relevant bodies to deliver these commitments.
We are seeking an experienced and proactive policy professional to join our team. You have a strong background in developing evidence-based policy and leading strategic initiatives, particularly in the area of workplace safety reform. Your ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders across various forums will be essential in advancing key policy programs and driving reform proposals forward.
You have a proven track record of leading the preparation of complex policy materials, including Cabinet submissions, briefs, and high-level briefing notes for senior executives and Ministers. Your excellent communication and analytical skills allow you to craft clear, concise, and impactful policy content that aligns with the organization's objectives.
As a strategic thinker and leader, you are comfortable managing projects in a fast-paced environment, coordinating strategic outputs, and supporting junior colleagues in delivering project deliverables and quality policy proposals. You thrive in environments where your contributions directly influence decision-making and reform, and you have the ability to guide and mentor others in the process.
