THE ROLE
Are you:
Knowledgeable in regulatory principles, comfortable working with legislation and regulations and have a sound experience in writing operational policy and procedures?
Able to provide strategic and solution-oriented policy advice?
Able to handle competing priorities and produce high quality work within tight inflexible timeframes?
Great at communicating with and engaging stakeholders to leverage information and expertise?
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
Provide authoritative advice, reasoned recommendations and innovative solutions to complex and sensitive issues to the Commission and the Board based on comprehensive research and consultation with internal and external stakeholders, including other regulatory agencies.
Develop and implement policy initiatives and relevant evidence-based materials that comply with legislation and meet Commission objectives within resourcing, timeline and budget parameters.
Actively monitor and report on high priority issues, risks and trends and prepare and present reports, briefs, correspondence, Board papers and submissions for a range of stakeholders including the department and Minister.
COVID-19 VACCINATION The department strongly recommends (but does not mandate) that employees maintain their COVID-19 vaccination status in accordance with current ATAGI (Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation) advice, given their individual circumstances. As of June 2023, DFFH does not require evidence of COVID-19 vaccination status.
