Permanent Full-Time opening for a Senior Policy Officer to join our Medical Advisory and Prevocational Accreditation Unit.
Be part of a supportive and dynamic team with fantastic flexible working arrangements!The role of Senior Policy Officer contributes to and supports the development, delivery and evaluation of strategic policy relating to medical education and medical workforce in collaboration with key stakeholders across Queensland Health and intergovernmental partners.Your key responsibilities:Undertake research, environmental scanning and analysis to support the identification of future strategic policy challenges, opportunities, priorities and issues relating to the medical workforce.Prepare high level briefing documents, submissions, correspondence and reports.Liaise with other Departmental areas, Hospital and Health Services, central agencies and other Departments to coordinate projects of an intra-agency or inter-agency nature and consult with other stakeholders as required.Participate in the planning, coordination and delivery of projects to ensure the objectives of the unit are realised and that key milestones and priorities are met.Utilise and ensure compliance with contemporary human resource management practice and principles including workplace health and safety, equal employment opportunity and antidiscrimination requirements.Provide ethical decision-making in the achievement of organisational goals.The successful personYou will have demonstrated:High level ability to work autonomously, meet deadlines and organisation and planning, time-management and problem-solving skills.Ability to develop and deliver projects to achieve outcomes.High level oral and written communication, consultation and negotiation skills to liaise with internal and external clients.Ability to produce and review complex reports, plans, submissions, briefing notes, agenda papers, presentations, speeches and correspondence.Ability to work across many platforms including web publishing, Excel, virtual meetings and online content design.Ability to research policy issues of a complex nature, including strategic policy issues and the capacity to provide advice to management in relation to medical education and medical workforce issues.About usThe Department of Health is responsible for the overall management of the public health system in Queensland.
