The Strategic Policy team within Digital Economy, Queensland Government Customer and Digital group are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Policy Officer.
As Senior Policy Officer you will work across the entire policy cycle to assist with the identification, development and implementation of innovative and integrated strategy and policy reforms, legislation, programs and initiatives.
You will work in partnership with colleagues across the department and in other Queensland Government agencies to support the growth of Queensland's digital economy, foster digital inclusion and participation, drive digital government innovation and transformation, and enable the delivery of modern and responsive services to Queenslanders.
Some of your key responsibilities include:
Manage the coordinated development and implementation of complex customer and digital policy priorities for the Queensland Government.Lead the development of timely and well-researched submissions, briefing notes, presentations, speeches, publications, reports and correspondence on complex issues, including Cabinet Submissions.Build productive and collaborative working relationships with other government agencies, other levels of government and with the private sector on significant matters and to facilitate the resolution of policy issues.Represent the Branch, the Division or the Department as required at inter-departmental and inter-governmental meetings.Exercise sound judgement to effectively manage competing priorities and work collaboratively with colleagues, to deliver projects on time and which meet customer's expectations.Lead or participate in project teams, comprising internal and external resources to develop and implement strategic policy and other QGCDG priority initiatives within agreed quality, cost and time parameters.Please note:
On 1 November 2024, the Queensland Government Customer and Digital Group (QGCDG) transitioned from the Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR) to the newly established Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business (DCSODSFB) as part of the recent Machinery-of-Government changes.
As a result, this position will continue to be part of QGCDG but will no longer be part of DTMR.
The conditions and entitlements that apply to the new DCSODSFB are still to be determined and may differ to those advertised.
