Our State Government client is seeking a Senior Policy Officer to join the team on a temporary basis. Starting mid-November and running through to end of February 2025, with possible extension. Working 38 hours per, the casual hourly rate of pay will be $84.75 plus super.

As part of the Strategy and Engagement team, collaborating closely with the Director and Principal Policy Officer, you will:
Conduct research, consult stakeholders, and develop policy options to address complex issues;Maintain effective communication with internal and external networks and liaise with senior representatives across various agencies;Lead project coordination to formulate innovative policy solutions; andUtilise your strong written and oral communication skills to engage with stakeholders and create accurate documentation.Requirements: Strong knowledge of policy development principles and implementation strategies;High capacity to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines;Excellent research and analysis skills with experience managing complex projects; andStrong communication, consultation, and negotiation abilities to engage diverse stakeholders.Desirable Qualifications:

Tertiary qualification in public policy, governance, or human-centred design.
