Queensland Building and Construction Commission (Organisation site )Position is located in Brisbane and the successful candidate will need to enter into a Flexible Work Arrangement upon commencement to reflect the office location you are seeking to work from.The purpose of this position is to deliver high quality policy services and legislation interpretation for QBCC's operational activities.Position is located in Brisbane and the successful candidate will need to enter into a Flexible Work Arrangement upon commencement to reflect the office location you are seeking to work from. If working from a regional office, travel to the Brisbane office may be required from time to time (frequency to be negotiated with successful candidate) to fulfil operational business needs.Key Outcomes and Accountabilities  The aim of this role is to:Provide early and ongoing interpretation and policy advice for the Policy and Legislation team and the broader operational divisions on proposed building and construction industry policy, legislation and other statutory mechanisms including interaction with other laws.Work positively and collaboratively with key internal stakeholders (including Legal Services Unit) and subject matter experts (SMEs) across the organisation to interpret and understand proposed changes to policy, legislation and other statutory mechanisms impacting QBCC and its stakeholders.Prepare and coordinate briefs, submissions and other organisational responses to requests (from government departments, central agencies, Minister's Officer etc.) for feedback on proposed legislative and other amendment.Undertake research and analysis on relevant policy and regulatory issues including investigations into industry trends, other jurisdictions' positions, models and approaches, academic literature etc.Contribute to the quality assurance of all communications, presentation and education materials (statutory and non-statutory) proposed to be distributed (internally or externally) in regard to the legislative, regulatory and policy issues.Candidate Attributes Undertakes objective, systematic analysis and draws accurate conclusions based on evidence.
