The Domestic, Family Violence and Vulnerable Persons Command (DFVVPC)provides a strategic capability for the Queensland Police Service (QPS) in theprevention, disruption, investigation and response to domestic and family violenceand harm to vulnerable persons. As part of this strategic capability, the DFVVPC hasthe responsibility to deliver outcomes for a number of recommendations made by theWomen's Safety and Justice Taskforce (WSJTF) and the Commission of Inquiry intoQPS responses to domestic and family violence (COIDFV).


The successful applicant will work as part of the Implementation Team to purposefully address the intent of various recommendations to improve police responses to domestic and family violence, support and protect victims and hold perpetrators to account. This position is required to develop, implement and respond to governance requirements related to the delivery of the Commission of Inquiry into QPS response to Domestic and Family Violence (COIDFV) and Women's Safety and Justice Taskforce (WSJTF) recommendations.
The core capability requirements for this role are: Provide high quality, well-researched advice to senior management in relation to issues effecting policing domestic and family violence and respond to such issues by developing effective policy options and strategies.Perform project and research tasks aimed at the investigation, analysis and evaluation of issues affecting domestic and family violence.Contribute as part of a multi-disciplinary team to the planning, development, implementation and monitoring of Whole of Government strategies and Queensland Police Service strategic and operational plans related to policing domestic and family violence.Monitor, evaluate and review policies, legislation and practices across Government and within the Queensland Police Service, which impact on domestic and family violence and liaise and negotiate with those agencies to achieve an appropriate holistic response.Prepare correspondence, briefings and submissions for senior management, the Minister, Cabinet and other diverse audiences regarding domestic and family violence.Produce timely and accurate information to be used for the purpose of evaluating programs, providing a basis for planning and policy development, and the assessment of legislative impacts on policing domestic and family violence.Consult and liaise effectively with other areas of the Queensland Police Service and relevant Government departments and non-government organisations on domestic and family violence issues, as appropriate, and represent the Queensland Police Service on inter-agency forums.Role Requirements: Mandatory:
While there are no mandatory requirements, previous experience in interpretation and development of policy, portfolio, program and/or project environment would be favourably regarded.Technical/ Operational/ Educational experience:
Educational background in domestic and family violence will be an advantage to any successful applicantApplications to remain current for 12 months.
