There is currently one (1) permanent position available for immediate filling.
Suitable applicants from this process will be placed in a pool from which temporary and/or permanent appointments may be made. The pool will operate for a period of twelve (12) months from the date that the recruitment breach period has been finalised.
About Us
The Department of the Premier and Cabinet supports the Premier as head of the Western Australian Government. The Department is a central agency that leads the public sector in providing advice and support to the Premier and Cabinet in their service of the Western Australian Community. The Data Unit is an interdisciplinary team tasked with improving how the public sector uses evidence to make better decisions and policy. We work with a broad range of agencies and tackle the State's most complex social, health, environmental and economic issues. The work we do underpins better strategy, operations and service delivery in the whole sector. If this sounds like something that interests you, please apply!
About the Role
We are seeking talented and motivated individuals with a passion for achieving outcomes to join us.
This is an engaging and multifaceted job with opportunities to work with a broad range of stakeholders and get involved with projects that shape decisions in government.
As part of this role, you will:
shape how the whole of government uses data,
provide guidance and advice to the whole sector on balancing information privacy with responsible information sharing in government,
support consultation with government, Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations and researchers,
support a number of interagency forums .
Data or technical experience is not necessary. This is not a technical role; we are looking for someone with an understanding of how evidence can shape better public policy outcomes, and a desire to work across agencies to identify priorities, bottlenecks and solutions.
You will work with a team of dedicated and talented public servants who will want you to succeed in your role and have a real passion for improving outcomes in the sector and the community.
