Senior Policy Officer; Assistant Director

The Office of Nature Conservation within the Environment, Heritage and Water Division is seeking applications from experienced professionals to fill multiple roles within the Nature Conservation Policy and Planning Team. We currently have vacancies for an ASO6 Senior Policy Officer PN13981 (ongoing) and a SOGC Assistant Director PN58247 (11 months with the possibility of ongoing). Applications will be used to create a merit pool for potential temporary positions. This recruitment will be undertaken through a single process, applicants will need to nominate which position they are applying for.
The newly established Office of Nature Conservation (ONC) brings together policy, science, and data expertise to accelerate unified thinking and action to respond to the immense conservation challenges facing the ACT. Notes: There are two positions available. The ASO6 Senior Policy Officer role is temporary with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency. The SOGC Assistant Director role is temporary for 11 months with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency.
A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only. An order of merit will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months.
