Senior Policy Government Relations AdvisorI am pleased to be partnering with RSL Australia on this critical position where you will have a direct impact advocating for veterans and their families.Your experience with Defence, whether as a veteran or through your work with Defence or the DVA, will be invaluable to ensuring RSL Australia's proactive stance in policy advocacy, especially in addressing the findings of the Royal Commission.You will represent RSL Australia at high-level meetings including Ministerial Advisors, at Senate Estimates, and internal committees including the National Veterans' Affairs Committee, RSL State branches ensuring veterans' interests are effectively communicated to key decision-makers. You will also be a key advisor to the CEO and Board providing recommendations on policy and veteran-related legislation.Your ability to research and be across policy developments of the Five-Eyes nations as well as other relevant organisations will enable you to create effective policies for Australia's veterans. You must have very strong written communication skills and, as this position requires a dynamic response to current affairs, your presence in the office supporting the CEO is essential.As part of a small and collaborative team, you can work effectively within a federated model, working closely with and supporting the member states contributing to the overall government relations strategy.Alignment with the RSL's values and your technical expertise in policy and government advocacy means this position will be one of tangible impact.
