Location: The Chief Risk Office has been established todrive and implement enterprise-wide risk management and plays a key role in establishing a culture of safety across the services provided by the Department of Health.
The role: Under the broad direction of the Chief Risk Officer, the primary objective of the Senior Policy and Project Officer is to work within the Chief Risk Office to deliver high level risk policy analysis and advice; draft high-level documentation and implement projects aligned with the Department's strategic risk agenda; and provide guidance to the other team members as required.
In this role you will:
Provide detailed advice and high-level analysis to portfolio Ministers, the Secretary, Agency colleagues and other stakeholders on health related strategic risk and policy issues, including facilitating risk identification and development of risk treatment plans, providing advice on emerging risks and monitoring of risk processes. Undertake projects that contribute to the successful implementation of strategic initiatives and approved service priorities in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, including review of project outputs and outcomes, and the preparation of project documentation, project status reports and communication strategies as required. Work collaboratively with other team members to support the planning, coordination, development, monitoring, and delivery of specific projects. Undertake research and analysis, including review and monitoring of the strategic international, national and local policy environment, and current and emerging issues. *notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies. Salary:$104,756 - $118,730per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance withPublic Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022 Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
Tertiary qualifications in risk management, public policy, or other relevant discipline, coupled with experience in working in a confidential and sensitive environment, would be highly regarded.
