CBR Recruitment is delighted to be working with the National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO) to recruit a Senior Policy Manager, Communicable Diseases.
NACCHO is the national peak body representing 146 Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs) and the lead advisor to the Commonwealth Government on primary health care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples nationally.
Position Overview: The Senior Policy Advisor, Communicable Diseases role is responsible for delivering a broad range of health and related policies, coordinating input to evidence-based advice to senior staff, and establishing and maintaining key internal and external networks.
This role would be well suited to an individual with a strong interest in policy and advocacy with the ability to think strategically.
Key Responsibilities: Preparing recommendations to inform communicable diseases policy reforms.
Drafting policy frameworks and implementing policy directions in program frameworks and/or plans.
Liaising with organisations and governments on a range of communicable disease policy and strategy issues.
Representing NACCHO at external meetings, working groups and forums.
Managing strategic initiatives to support the delivery of primary care and communicable diseases responses.
Driving communication and advocacy of NACCHO policies and strategic direction.
The skills and experience we are seeking: Demonstrated policy development experience.
The ability to lead a small policy and project team.
Experience providing high quality policy advice and implementing policy directions into program frameworks.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to think strategically and analytically, show initiative and sound judgement.
Strong skills in cross cultural communication and relationship management.
Experience in a similar organisation or government department would be highly regarded.
Relevant qualifications are also highly desirable.
