Senior Policy Advisor * Salary: $109,730 – $132,764 (Plus Superannuation) * Ongoing role * Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available) * Usual work location: 121 Exhibition Street, Melbourne (flexibility may be available) The Role As part of the Priority Projects Unit, the Senior Policy Adviser will work on priority projects across the department's portfolios.
The Senior Policy Advisor will be a part of a high-performing team that operates like an internal management consulting firm to support joined-up strategy and policy development across the department.
The Priority Projects Unit supports the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions with complex projects and priority reforms.
The unit works in partnership with the department's policy teams to help deliver priorities as directed by the Secretary and Deputy Secretaries.
Key knowledge and skill requirements for this role include: * Problem solving: proven analytical and conceptual skills, including an ability to structure problems, analyse data and communicate solutions to decision-makers.
* Policy nous: excellent understanding of public policy and government processes.
* Project management: demonstrated project management capabilities with experience on public sector projects.
