This role will assist in the progression of diabetes-related foot disease research projects by contributing to the design of the research protocols; ensuring research governance protocols and requirements are met and recorded.The role incumbent will provide clinical leadership to gather high quality clinical research data and maintain optimum health care to research participants at the standard of practice, in accordance with the National Health Medical and Research Council (NHMRC), Good Clinical Practice Guidelines (GCP) and the International Committee of Harmonisation (ICH).About you Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
Provide key support to diabetes-related foot disease research projects undertaken by the COH Directorate, led by a nominated Principal Investigator (PI).Prepare or assist the nominated PI to prepare ethics submissions, governance applications, conference reports, posters, slides and hand-outs for presentations.Collaborate with the nominated PI to ensure that all studies are conducted strictly according to study protocols, and legal and regulatory bodies, including but not limited to: Good Clinical Practice (GCP), International Conference of Harmonization (ICH), National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research and the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research guidelines.Ensure that service standards, safety and quality are maintained through adherence to defined service quality standards and relevant occupational health and safety policies, procedures, and work practices.Health Equity It is expected that all Metro North Health staff, including the incumbent of this role as a valuable member of the Metro North workforce, contribute to the health equity agenda and meet the intent of supporting the defined six actions that specifically meet the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people within the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHS), by actively supporting the elimination of racial discrimination and institutional racism; supporting increased access to health care; influencing the social, cultural and economic determinants of health; supporting the delivery of sustainable, culturally safe and responsive health services; and recognising the importance of working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities and organisations to design, deliver, monitor and review the health and support services we provide.
