The EPA is responsible for the administration of the Environment Protection Act 1993 (EP Act) and the Radiation Protection and Control Act 2021 (RPC Act) and also exercises responsibilities under other South Australian planning and environmental legislation.
About the Role The Senior Planning Adviser is responsible for the assessment of development applications focusing on greenhouse gas (GHG) mitigation and climate change adaptation and includes working with proponents and their consultants.
As part of the EPA's legislated commitment to addressing climate change, the position will work closely with other EPA climate change policy and technical staff across the EPA to assist in assessing the environmental, social and economic aspects of proposals.
The Senior Planning Adviser assists in the development and implementation of a climate change focused Environment Protection Policy (EPP) under the EP Act, by providing planning advice on climate change assessments.
This position may also assist with the coordination and assessment of 'impact assessed' and Crown development applications referred to the EPA in accordance with the Planning Development and Infrastructure Act 2016 and assist with the provision of pre-lodged development application advice.

Essential Qualification A degree in science, engineering, natural resources, environmental management, land use planning or equivalent.
Remuneration PO3 ($101,285 to $107,078) + 11.5% superannuation paid to your choice of super fund.
