Professional 3 (Remuneration Package Range $127,522 - $142,618)Lands Planning and Development Assessment ServicesDarwinOngoing vacancy availableBuild your career in Land Use and Development Planning.Enjoy the mix of strategic and statutory planning work.Eligible for membership of the Planning Institute of Australia.Apply your extensive experience in Land Use Planning and your understanding of urban planning principles to navigate complex regulatory frameworks across the Territory.The Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics (DIPL) aims to drive the sustainable, economic and social advancement of the Northern Territory (NT) through land use and transport planning, infrastructure investment and effective logistics supply chains.As a Senior Planner, your primary objective is to provide advice on and inform the Minister and Department for Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics (DIPL), the Development Consent Authority (DCA), NT Planning Commission (NTPC) and stakeholders on a range of planning and development issues and projects. Your key duties will include preparing high-level correspondence, ministerial briefings, letters, memos and reports; processing planning applications for compliance with the relevant Planning Scheme and statutory requirements, and representing the Department in proceedings of the DCA, the NTPC and the NT Civil and Administrative Tribunal. Your deep understanding of urban planning principles, and your ability to analyse and navigate complex regulatory frameworks across multiple jurisdictions, will be invaluable to the team.To be successful, you are required to hold a degree or diploma qualification related to Land Use Planning, have eligibility for admission to corporate membership of the Planning Institute of Australia; and demonstrated recent experience in dealing with a wide range of land use, land capability and development planning issues. Well-developed political and cross-cultural awareness and the ability to communicate with influence, negotiate and resolve conflict and prepare quality technical reports and documentation is essential.In return, you will receive a competitive remuneration package, inclusive of 11.5% superannuation, 6 weeks' recreational leave, 3 weeks' personal leave, up to 17.5% annual leave allowance and additional paid leave to cover the Christmas – New Years' Day shut-down.
