Reporting to: Location: Central Hub – 70 Light Square, Adelaide. Some flexibility in work location may be required through negotiation.
Position Purpose: To provide clinical expertise in the delivery of Physiotherapy Services ensuring the development and delivery of high quality service provision that meet the needs of the clients of Brain Injury SA.
Maintaining a complex caseload and at least 5 billable hours per working day.
Position SummaryWorking as part of a multidisciplinary team focused on the needs of participants with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), the Senior Physiotherapists in our team are responsible for the provision and management of specialised, high quality Physiotherapy services delivered within Brain Injury SA
The Senior Physiotherapist's duties include: Managing and evaluating best practiceMaintaining high level clinical standards in supervision of staff and studentsImplementing innovative clinical practicesThe incumbent also assists the hub Team Leader in: Managing human and physical resources required to meet service demandDeveloping and documenting systems to support quality and clinical standardsProviding advice and consultancy to service funders, management and professional networksProviding clinical and professional leadership to PhysiotherapistsThis position holds delegated pairing with Physiotherapy Lead. This means that simultaneous leave is restricted with the holder of the paired position. Position RequirementsKey Result Area 1: Advanced Clinical Service DeliveryObjectivesProviding advanced clinical skills to participants and maintaining currency of knowledge in relevant specialist areas of Physiotherapy.Co-ordinating Physiotherapy service provision.Maintaining professional standards and meet organisational requirements in reporting, recording and administrative practices.Position holder is successful when:
Services provided are client centred, founded in evidence or best practice and undertake a goal oriented approach.Interdisciplinary team has access to advanced and current clinical knowledge in specialist areas to deliver best practice.Physiotherapy workloads including work allocation, and resource planning are effectively managed for efficiency and effectiveness including meeting organisational KPI's.Close collaboration occurs with the Team Leader – Central and the Discipline Lead, Physiotherapy, to ensure participant needs can be accommodated and good service planning occurs.Participant service records are maintained to a professional standard of completeness and accuracy.Staff supervised are supported to achieve required standards in all reporting and administrative practices.Key Result Area 2: Interdisciplinary Practice and TeamworkObjectivesWorking for excellence in Interdisciplinary practice.Position holder is successful when:
Brain Injury SA staff have access to specialist Physiotherapy advice and service information as required.Therapeutic disciplines work collaboratively to identify and best address the needs of participants, enhance service delivery outcomes and influence service development.Consultancy is available as needed to members of the Rewire team and Senior Management team in clinical discipline specific matters.The Team Leader, Allied Health, is supported in providing leadership and achieving best-practice through excellence in collaboration and communication.Opportunities to participate in and contribute to the broader staff team and work of Brain Injury SA are undertaken positively and constructively.Key Result Area 3: Staff and Student SupervisionObjectivesProviding leadership and mentorship to junior Physiotherapy staff.Providing clinical education to Physiotherapy students.Position holder is successful when:
Junior PT staff and Allied Health Assistants enjoy a work environment that supports their learning and development with a particular focus on the building of specialist expertise in the management and treatment of brain injury.Supervised staff are enabled to identify educational and development needs through regular feedback supported by annual performance reviews.Staff personal and professional development and that of the discipline is facilitated through educational programs and access to workshops, courses and conferences in line with organisational policy and budget capacity.Physiotherapy students experience a well-structured, inspiring and supported opportunity tailored to their learning and developmental needs.Through role modelling, students develop a culture of professionalism, accountability and reflective practice.Personal and professional development of staff and the discipline is facilitated through educational programs and access to workshops, courses and conferences.Relevant communication is maintained with supervising universities, supporting development of clinical knowledge and interest in specialist employment in the area of brain injury amongst students.Key Result Area 4: Quality and SafetyObjectivesDeveloping and appropriately reviewing policies and procedures specific to Physiotherapy service provision.Ensuring compliance with applicable legal and professional standards, with a particular focus in the practice of Physiotherapy.Adhere and contribute to development of Work Health and Safety monitoring and reporting.Position holder is successful when:
National Standards for Disability Services are achieved and meet or exceed auditing requirements.Policies and procedures are available as required to support delivery of quality and safe Physiotherapy practice to participants with Brain Injury SA.Policies and procedures are implemented and periodically audited for quality purposes.Clinical standards and ethical practice is maintained in all Physiotherapy service provision.Supervised staff work safely in their practice seeking support and guidance appropriately.Organisational work health, safety and injury management (WHS&IM) policies and procedures are adhered to.Supervised staff, students and volunteers are provided with access to the necessary information, instruction, training and supervision to effectively and safely carry out their work.Organisational EngagementKey TasksActively support purpose and values of Brain Injury SA (BISA);Positively and constructively represent BISA to external contacts at all opportunities;Behave in a way that contributes to a workplace that is free of discrimination, harassment and bullying behaviour at all times;Operate in line with BISA's policies and practices;Help ensure the health, safety and welfare of self and others working in the organisation; andFollow reasonable directions given by the organisation in relation to workplace health & safety;All appointments at BISA are subject to provision of a satisfactory NDIS Worker Screening Check; and a current not-prohibited Working with Children Check.Key Relationships/InteractionsCEOManager – Allied Health Operations/Discipline LeadAllied Health StaffParticipants and carersQualifications/Registrations/ExperienceRelevant qualification in Physiotherapy;Professional Registration with AHPRA;Minimum 3 years' experience in Physiotherapy assessment and service delivery with Adults;Must have a successful NDIS Worker Screening Check; and a current not-prohibited Working with Children Check.Experience working with adults with Acquired Brain Injury;Knowledge and/or experience with the NDIS knowledge;Experience supervising students and junior staffCore CompetenciesDemonstratedClinical practice and case load managementService planning and deliveryHighly developed interpersonal skills incorporating excellent communication, organisational and negotiation skills#J-18808-Ljbffr
