About the roleThe Technology Group in Are Media is responsible for delivering and maintaining the technology components of all projects across the business. The team provides stakeholders with the expertise to help them make informed decisions.We are looking for a PHP Developer to play an important technical role for our hardtofind e-commerce platform. Your main focus will be to support and enhance this site, and to extend the framework to build new white label shopping sites. You will also assist with the delivery of other PHP-based projects.DutiesReporting to the IT Development Manager, you will:Be responsible for the development and technical quality of our PHP applications and associated integrations.Ensure technology solutions meet business requirements within agreed time and budget constraints.Contribute to team estimation of development work, assess requirements for completeness and clarify where required.Provide 3rd level support for production systems.Support the Agile delivery processes currently in use.Skills and experienceAt least 3 years' commercial experience developing PHP-based websites using the LAMP or LEMP stack.Full stack exposure: strong MySQL database skills, experience with JavaScript frameworks such as jQuery, Angular and Vue.Experience with consuming 3rd party APIs such as REST services.An understanding of object-oriented paradigms, software design patterns and software development principles such as DRY, KISS and SOLID.Good communication skills, and attention to detail.Experience with cloud computing services, especially AWS, is a bonus.Are Media is committed to a diverse, respectful, collaborative & inclusive workplace.
