We are looking for a Senior Manager of P&C based in our Melbourne office on Swanston Street. The Role: Head of People and Culture Reporting to the Chief People Officer (CPO) you'll lead a small P&C team and work closely with the CPO and the Head of Learning and Organisational Development to further develop the people strategy, alongside senior business leaders. You will drive initiatives that not only shape our workplace culture but also strengthen our people's experience and engagement. This role focuses on providing strategic and technical advice to leaders and decision makers in relation to IR/ER matters, workers compensation and compliance. Your role will also entail providing high-level coaching to equip senior managers for success and managing Nextt's HR System.
What You'll Do Lead and coach a high performing team of P&C professionals by proactively focusing on developing capability.In conjunction with the P&C Leadership Team develop and implement strategies that foster a positive organisational culture and enhance employee engagement.Build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders and deliver high-level coaching and case management support on effective ways to manage and resolve conflicts, grievances, and complaints in a fair and effective manner minimising legal or reputational risks.Manage complex employee relations issues, including investigations, risk assessment, securing evidence and preparing clear reports.Oversee workers compensation, workplace injury mitigation strategies and efforts to improve employee wellness, including mental health programs, work-life balance initiatives, and overall employee support systems.Work closely with other senior leaders and department heads to ensure alignment between the P&C function and business strategies.Manage relations and negotiations with Fair Work, unions and employee representative bodies.Oversee the implementation and use of HR technology systems to streamline processes and employee data management.Create, update and ensure that people-related policies are consistent, compliant with local, state, and federal laws, and aligned with the organization's ethical standards.Leverage data and analytics to make informed decisions about P&C initiatives.About You Currently, in a lead People & Culture/ HR position and with a stable career history of 10+ years. With a genuine passion and empathy for people and a depth of experience across all P&C activities, the ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success, working with senior leadership to help them scale high-performing teams. An energetic, passionate experienced People and Culture Manager with exceptional leadership qualities and an ability to context-shift as needed between the detailed and the strategic will thrive in this fast-paced business.
Workforce Relations Knowledge: Demonstrated expertise in workforce relations within complex environments.Operational Excellence: Strong experience in P&C operations, ideally within service industries.Collaborative Leadership: Proven ability to build and manage stakeholder relationships, and effectively navigate complex, fast paced environments.HR Technology Savvy: Advanced knowledge of HR systems with a data driven approach to support strategic decision-making. Experience in leading a HR system roadmap and working closely with IT functions to use technology as an enabler of continuous service improvement.People First Approach: Strong alignment with a people centred culture, able to foster engagement, inclusion, and a cohesive team environment.Trusted Partnership: A proactive and solution-oriented mindset, building a reliable partnership with the CPO and key business leaders.Leading: the P&C team ensure that the HR technology and processes are optimized, integrated and managed to the highest standards.Qualifications Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Law, or related fields.Why Nextt?
