The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager this role will be fully responsible for the end-to-end Payroll function. This role focuses on continuous improvement of systems, processes, and procedures related to payroll.
Responsibilities include:
• Preparation of fortnightly and monthly payrolls for more than 300 employees
• End-of-month payroll – superannuation, general ledger reconciliations, PAYG, FBT, and GST requirements
• Manage staff salary packaging in conjunction with an external body
• Manual calculation of leave entitlements
• Preparation of annual and interim audit
• Perform regular systems audits to ensure data accuracy and integrity, conduct payroll reconciliations and investigations as necessary
• Contribute to continuous improvement processes by engaging and introducing inspiring ideas
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have a passion for payroll and have sound experience working in an end-to-end payroll position previously. You will be a strong communicator, with excellent system experience and be solutions-centric.
• Proven experience as a Senior Payroll Officer
• Ideally, experience within an educational or similarly complex payroll environment such as health or aged care.
• Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills
• Understanding of modern awards and EBAs
• Superannuation, PAYG, and Workcover entitlements
• Experience with Micropay or Synergetic is highly advantageous
