Our client is seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to challenge themselves in a fast-paced environment, managing payroll for approximately 11,000 employees across Australia and New Zealand. The successful candidate will have the chance to contribute to the continuous improvement of all things payroll related, ensuring accurate and on-time delivery of a fortnightly pay.
What you'll do: As a Senior Payroll Officer, your role will be pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our client's payroll system. You will be responsible for providing technical advice and support in relation to payroll, superannuation, tax queries, and business escalations. Your exceptional customer service skills will be utilised as you work closely with leaders/employees and external partners, problem-solving and providing coaching. You will also play a key role in identifying opportunities for automation and process improvements.
Provide payroll expertise to ensure the on-time, effective and compliant delivery of a fortnightly payroll.Ensure key milestones are met, while completing all tasks/ deliverables required for a successful payroll.Support strong governance, stakeholder management and delivery of all payroll-related activities.Identify and implement opportunities to streamline, simplify and improve payroll standard operating procedures.Undertake and contribute to control testing, internal and external audits and compliance management.Maintain an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the changing pay, super and tax landscape. 3-5 years minimum demonstrated experience within a complex payroll environment in a mid to large organisation.A passion for exceptional customer service and problem solving.Demonstrated operational experience and technical skills across the payroll ambit.Ability to analyse and understand data, resulting in the provision of data driven insights.Excellent organisational, prioritisation and time management skills.Exceptional learning agility, a sense of humour, openness to asking questions.
