Join the prestigious Parliamentary Security Service, dedicated to providing a professional security service to the Parliament of Queensland. Our mission is to ensure a safe and secure environment for Members of Parliament, staff, and visitors within the Parliamentary precinct.
Your duties and responsibilities as a Senior Parliamentary Security Officer will see you:
Perform security duties within the Parliamentary Precinct, including control room activities, patrols, and customer service.Coordinate car parking allocations and maintain the database.Issue security access cards and maintain relevant databases.Act as "Incident Controller" during major incidents in the absence of the Supervisor.Assist State and Civil Authorities with Parliamentary security.Coordinate emergency evacuations and liaise with key stakeholders.Manage fire panel isolations for works within the buildings.Conduct regular inspections and testing of equipment.Train Parliamentary Security Officers and other staff.Assist with shift coordination, including task allocation and roster preparation.Develop capability to relieve the Parliamentary Security Supervisor.Key Strengths for Success 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a security setting.Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.Ability to remain calm under pressure.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong organisational and time management skills.This role requires the successful applicant to work shift work in accordance with a 12 hour shift roster that operates 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.
