Child Welfare, Youth & Family Services (Community Services & Development) Maximum Term contract ending 30 June 2025 with possibility of extension 45.6 hours per fortnight 3 days during the week (Mondays to Wednesdays) ABOUT THE ROLE We have an exciting opportunity for a Child Health Nurse to be part of our interdisciplinary team working as our Senior Parenting Line Practitioner. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and management of the team, including the planning, implementation, and evaluation of parenting information and support services provided to parents, caregivers, and professionals who contact Ngala Parenting Line across Western Australia.
DUTIES Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Provide coaching, mentoring and performance management of staff working in Parenting Line. Team management including recruitment, onboarding, and rostering. Participating in service evaluation processes and quality improvement activities. Fostering staff development and maintain current evidence-based practices. Multi-tasking and effectively managing time to meet the priorities of the service. Engaging and developing effective working relationships with families, colleagues, and external service providers. Performing as a Parenting Line Practitioner, respond to Parenting Line calls as outlined in the Service Model. Participate in an on-call roster for out of hours support. Ensuring service provision aligns with Ngala's Service Delivery model and Strategic Plan. ABOUT YOU The successful candidate will hold current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) together with the following:
Qualifications in Child Health Nursing with a minimum of 5 years' experience. Team leadership experience highly desirable. Significant postgraduate nursing experience in the area of specialty with demonstrated advanced knowledge and skill with a strengths-based approach to practice. Knowledge of contemporary social issues and how they impact on children and families. Effective interpersonal and relationship building skills including conflict management skills. Proficient in computer technology systems. Valid WA Working with Children Check and driver's licence. Satisfactory National Police Clearance obtained within the last 6 months.
