About the JobAbout the roleThe Senior Overhead Engineer oversees the safe and cost-effective maintenance and asset management of Overhead Line Equipment (OLE) within the Public Transport Authority's (PTA) rail network. This role involves planning and monitoring maintenance and repair activities, conducting inspections, testing, and analysing equipment/system failures to develop solutions and improvements. The engineer also undertakes audits on OLE infrastructure, compiles performance data, and provides recommendations to the Principal Electrical Engineer. Additionally, they act on behalf of Branch Management when necessary, contributing to the reliability and efficiency of the PTA's OLE operations.In a technical capacity, the Senior Overhead Engineer provides expertise in 25kVAC OLE design, maintenance, upgrades, and modifications. They are involved in commissioning new equipment and systems, reviewing designs for adherence to safety and technical standards, and ensuring alignment with the PTA's design principles. This position also manages high-value, high-risk projects, including coordinating contractors and in-house teams for OLE installations. Liaising with other PTA sections, reviewing technical documents, and assisting with training for safe and effective operations are also core to this role.About You!To excel in this role, you should possess:Holds a tertiary qualification in electrical engineering, with demonstrated competence in 25kVAC OLE design, maintenance, and a strong understanding of rail safety standards.Extensive experience in leading teams for the planning, design, and construction of OLE infrastructure, with skills in contract and project management to ensure project success.Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.Well-developed problem-solving abilities for complex technical issues, coupled with strong organizational skills to meet targets and timelines through teamwork and effective delegation.About UsThe Public Transport Authority's (PTA) vision is to be recognised as a leader in providing world-class public transport services and solutions.
