Oral Health Services Central Australia Alice Springs Fixed vacancy to 04/02/2025
As the Senior Dental/ Oral Health Therapist, your primary objective is ensure delivery of high quality, clinically and culturally appropriate and effective Oral Health Services to eligible groups in Central Australia in accordance with Oral Health Service Central Australia (OHSCA) policies, procedures and guidelines; and to be involved in planning and policy development. You are also required to plan, implement, manage, monitor, evaluate and report on the children's oral health and oral health promotion programs remote Aboriginal Communities as well as urban settings in Central Australia. The position is based in Alice Springs Northern Territory.
You will provide clinical leadership, supervision, mentoring and management of dental/oral health therapists providing outreach services to remote/urban communities either in a fixed clinic or a dental truck. You will also independently organise and manage a complex workload within a dynamic and evolving work environment to ensure timelines and health outcomes are met.
You are required to follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces. You will be required to have the ability to travel and stay in remote communities to deliver clinical services when required and foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.
Oral Health Service in Central Australia (OHSCA) provides a range of oral health services, community education programs and targeted services to clients with chronic diseases and special needs. OHSCA is accredited with the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards and collaborates with the Menzies School of Health Research and the Australian Research Centre for Population Oral Health in multi-centre research programs.
