Extension term:1month Location: ACT Security: Must have Baseline About the Role: SoftLabs is seeking SeniorOracle Database Administrator (DBA) for ICT Labour hire at their technologyconsulting based in Canberra.
Responsibility: Lead the migration of Oracle databases fromversion 12c to 19c, ensuring a smooth and efficient transition. This includesplanning, execution, testing, and troubleshooting migration processes. Spearhead the Oracle uplift project tomigrate existing Oracle databases to OCI. Develop and implement migrationstrategies that align with our cloud objectives, ensuring security,performance, and cost-effectiveness. Perform routine DBA tasks, includingdatabase design, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and patch management.Ensure the integrity, availability, and security of Oracle databases. Leverage OCI features to optimize databaseperformance and scalability. Implement and manage cloud-based solutions,including Autonomous Database, for improved efficiency and innovation. Work closely with IT teams, SolutionsArchitects, and project managers to plan and execute migration projects.Provide expertise and guidance on Oracle technologies and cloud migration bestpractices. Document migrationprocesses, configurations, and post-migration changes. Ensure compliance withdata security and privacy policies and regulations. Background as a senior Oracle Data BaseAdministrator Proven experience as an Oracle DBA, with extensive knowledge of Oracledatabase administration, version 12c and 19c. Applicants must possess a minimumof 10 years of experience as an Oracle DBA, with at least 2 years focused ondatabase migrations and cloud technologies. Oracle DBA Certification and OCIArchitect Certification are highly desirable. Oracle Database and Cloud InfrastructureMigration Experience Demonstrated experience in migrating Oracle databases tonewer versions and to cloud environments, preferably OCI. Cloud Proficiency Hands-on experience withOracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and familiarity with cloud services, tools,and best practices. Technical Skills Strong understanding ofdatabase architecture, SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle RAC. Experience with Oracle DataGuard, Oracle GoldenGate, and backup/recovery techniques. Problem-Solving Excellent problem-solvingand analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex migrationissues and optimize database performance. Communication and Collaboration SkillsStrong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to workeffectively in a team and communicate technical concepts to non-technicalstakeholders. Familiarity with Federal Government ICT. Oracle Database and Tools Experience.

SAFe and/or Agile Experience/ExposureFamiliarity with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) or other agile methodologies isa plus. Experience or exposure to agile practices will help streamline programdelivery.
