After recently acquiring the services of an experience Head of Grid Connection, the business is now looking to build a team of Power Systems and Grid Connection expert to deliver a number of projects across Australia.
I am actively looking to speak with either a senior or principal power system engineer with the desire and passion to lead the technical modelling process, as well as discussions with NSP's and AEMO.
The role will include grid feasibility, connection registration, commissioning and operational compliance across the full lifecycle of projects, which includes an emphasis on Wind farm development.
Job Title: Senior or Principal Power Systems Engineer Location: Melbourne (must be commutable to central Melbourne office location) Length: Full time, Permanent    Key Skills: Tertiary qualifications in electrical/power system engineering with 3-10 years of experience in a similar role.
Good understanding of the National Electricity Rules (NER), the National Electricity Market (NEM) and the electrical power grid in Australia.
Experience in the Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM) and the South West Interconnected System (SWIS) in Western Australia is a plus.
Knowledge and experience in transmission planning, power system control/operation, and/or grid connection of inverter-based generation/storage projects in the NEM/WEM.
Experience in using PSS/E, and/or PSCAD, and/or DIgSILENT PowerFactory.
Experience in working with AEMO, NSPs, grid consultants, OEMs and other technical solution providers.
Capability to assess changes and identify opportunities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate technical knowledge in plain English to internal and external stakeholders.
Avid learner and demonstrated eagerness to acquire skills and responsibilities as the business grows.
