The role
At our Gippsland Regional Organics Facility, we turn all kinds of organic wastes from various industries and our own treatment facilities into compost, which is used throughout the Gippsland region.
In this role, you'll be working as part of a team but focused on providing day-to-day instruction and support to the operations team, so we need you to have a sound knowledge and understanding of all activities in our composting process.
You'll also make sure plant and equipment is maintained and safe to use.
You'll be operating heavy machinery and at times, working in biohazardous and odorous conditions which makes the work we do regulated.
The compost we produce also needs to meet certain standards.
You'll play a key role in achieving compliance and ensuring work is carried out safely.
What you'll bring
Commitment to working safely in a workplace that processes biohazardous and odorous materials.
Experience working in waste receival plants or other processing infrastructure or similar.
Experience supervising operations in a heavy mobile plant environment.
Ability to lead and work in a team.
Ability to provide solutions to mechanical/process problems.
