Compliance & Risk (Banking & Financial Services) China Construction Bank Corporation (CCB) is one of the largest banking corporations in China and is the 2nd largest bank in the world by asset size. With a dominant presence already established in China, CCB is proactively expanding onto overseas markets and currently has over 30 offices operating outside China.
CCB Sydney Representative Office was set up in November 2007. In August 2010, the Australian Prudential and Regulation Authority (APRA) approved CCB as a foreign authorised deposit taking institution, authorising it to carry on banking business in Australia. CCB Sydney Branch can conduct wholesale banking in Australia, including corporate lending and deposits, international settlement, trade finance, and AUD clearing.
Main Duties and Responsibilities Assist with the implementation and maintenance of the Operational Risk Management Framework and related policies and procedures, ensuring policies and practices are consistent with both local and Head Office regulatory reporting requirements; Assist with implementing quarterly Risk and Control Self-assessment, CPS220 attestation and Risk Appetite Statement to identify, measure, and monitor operational risks, including:Assisting with developing and maintaining the Risk Register in GRC; Supporting the Risk Profiling process by working with key stakeholders to identify the key risks; Assisting with the development and maintenance of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) to support the measurement of key risk metrics. Provide guidance and assistance to Line 1 business stakeholders on managing incidents, issues, and controls in GRC; Provide Line 2 oversight on risk and control assurance; Assist with facilitating training to Line 1 business stakeholders; Develop and maintain key relationships throughout the business and Head Office as necessary, ensuring open and effective risk communications of regular and ad-hoc risk and regulatory reporting processes. Experience The candidate must have a minimum of 5 years experience in banking and financial markets and a fundamental understanding of relevant industry products & services including, but not limited to, large commercial & corporate lending, interest rate and FX rate derivative products, money markets, and trade finance. A strong awareness of general banking compliance and anti-money laundering requirements is essential. Specifically, the incumbent must have 3 years experience working in Australia with a broad range of financial products. Pre-requisites: Knowledge of risk management frameworks, regulations, and industry standards; Prior experience in contributing to the development of an operational risk capability such as RCSA, Control Testing and Control Assurance, Incidents and Issues management process, KRI, etc. Capabilities: Bilingual in both English and Mandarin verbal and written skills are required; High attention to detail and process. Experience and Qualifications: Degree qualified in a business, commerce, or accounting related discipline; At least 2 years experience in a "hands-on" operational risk role; At least 3 years experience at a regulated financial institution or big 4 consulting firms.
