ABOUT THE ROLE
Passionate, collaborative and analytical, you'll bring a problem-solving mindset to user-centred research in our Digital Engagement and Experience team. You'll play a crucial role in conducting research and decoding user behaviour into insights that inform change and innovative design. Collaborate across diverse policy, program and technical teams to create impactful digital and customer experiences. You will be responsible for:
Designing and conducting inclusive customer research and engagement activities for AMSA's digital channels, products and services, campaigns and content, and embedding user research capability in the team.
Developing evidence-based insights that contribute to and shape AMSA's customer experience and business processes.
Working with specialist teams to co-design, test and validate digital interaction solutions.
Producing artefacts to support user research and experience design, including reports, journey maps and user personas, wireframes and prototypes.
Educating colleagues and stakeholders on best practice user experience design principles and practices in line with AMSA's user experience strategy.
Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders and customers to support and advise on co-design practices and ensure best practice digital service delivery.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
To be successful in this position, you will have the following skills and experience:
At least three years' experience working in user experience research in a government or corporate environment.
Demonstrated experience in user research techniques, and ability to design and lead quantitative and qualitative user research, synthesise results and deliver evidence-based insights reports and recommendations for change.
Experience in using analytics tools, such as Clarity, Hotjar and Qualtrics, to gather, interpret and analyse data, such as customer feedback and digital interaction patterns to continually improve the user experience.
Demonstrated ability to engage with users and stakeholders and to develop positive working relationships across organisational business areas with policy, operational, and technical staff.
Knowledge of the Digital Service Standard and experience in applying it to designing for digital channels.
Excellent attention to detail, organisation and time management, and ability to take ownership of tasks through to completion, and present research findings in an engaging and persuasive manner.
Experience in digital service/interaction design with the ability to create wireframes, prototypes, storyboards and visualisations of user journeys, mental models, information architecture and user interface designs (using tools such as Miro, Figma, or similar).
Experience in large scale digital design projects with a focus on omni-channel approaches.
University degree in interaction design, psychology, business informatics, human factors, communications or a related subject area or equivalent experience in the user research space.
