Location: Greenough Regional Prison
This is a pool process with permanent full-time opportunities. Currently, there are three (3) permanent positions available for immediate filling. About the role As a Senior Prison Officer, you will be supported in your role and be encouraged to build on your team-building skills by leading by example and managing and monitoring staff performance by providing effective feedback.
Your knowledge of health, social and cultural issues along with current policies and procedures of the Department will be valued.
Recording and entering accurate information into TOMs is a must.
Eligibility To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian public sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.
To be eligible for this pool, you must be a substantive Prison Officer in the WA prison service.

Staff management, team building and maintaining relationships: Managing staff including monitoring staff performance, providing effective feedback both formally and informally, staff development, delegation of activities and team building.
Establishing and maintaining effective workplace relationships and networks to achieve positive results.Continuous improvement: Identifying, supporting, and implementing change in the workplace to improve individual, prison, and departmental operations.
Putting forward ideas or making changes to do things more effectively and/or efficiently.Knowledge: Possessing a sound knowledge of the commissioner's operating policies and procedures – prisons and a proficient user of TOMs.Contact details of two (2) work related referees.
Pool recruitment This pool will be open for a period of 12 months from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes.
Permanent full-time appointments may be offered as vacancies arise; however, an appointment is not guaranteed.
The Department of Justice uses recruitment pools to build a bank of talent for future opportunities.
Applicants found suitable in this pool may be considered for subsequent, similar vacancies at similar locations, with the Department of Justice for the duration of the pool.
