The Gadigal Centre is now hiring for a Senior Advancement Officer! We are seeking a candidate who in addition to fulfilling the below requirements, holds an active interest in progressing the existing support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students with the aim to improve overall university experience.
Your key responsibilities will be to:

Oversees the management of student data across various database and software systems. This includes ensuring secure storage, maintaining confidentiality, and promoting data integrity.
Proactively identifies and resolves potential administrative obstacles within student engagement programs, including Scholarships and ITAS. Provides informed advice to the Leadership team on associated projected costs/revenue, resource implications, reporting necessities, and suggests effective mitigation strategies.
Engages directly with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, particularly those in their first year, providing holistic support that encompasses all aspects of university life.
Provides advice and guidance in effectively tailoring the Gadigal Centre's programming and engagement strategies to the diverse needs of Indigenous students in Higher Education settings.
Collaborates with the Advancement Manager to ensure alignment of the Gadigal Centre's student support services with student needs, acting as a bridge between the Centre and academic leaders.
Required:
Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
tertiary qualifications and relevant experience in case-management and higher education administration or an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience required
hold a valid paid Working with Children Check.
About you:
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander societies and cultures, including an understanding of the issues affecting people in contemporary Australian society and the diversity of circumstances of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
experience supporting students, preferably in a tertiary education environment
superior communication and negotiation skills that facilitate respectful and effective interactions with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people on matters related to the provision of quality higher education
strong time and workload management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise effectively, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and achieve required outcomes and effectively deliver results
excellent administrative skills including advanced Microsoft Office skills and experience using software such as Power BI and CRM systems for student data management.
