Where you'll be workingMacquarie Hospital is a declared, low-secure, 195 bed mental health facility with 14 beds for adult acute admissions and 181 beds in long term and short term rehabilitation services for consumers with schizophrenia, dual diagnosis and other enduring psychotic illnesses.
It is located in North Ryde, 22km from the CBD of Sydney on approximately 42 hectares of parkland.What you'll be doingThis opportunity exists for a senior Occupational Therapist with a strong interest in mental health rehabilitation to join the Macquarie Hospital Occupational Therapy Team.
Our team has a strong commitment and focus on providing recovery-orientated, trauma informed & innovative approaches to supporting consumers in a mental health rehabilitation setting .
As part of the Occupational Therapy team, you will work collaboratively with consumers, carers, members of the multidisciplinary team and external stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for our consumers.
We are looking for a candidate who will uphold the core values of NSW health inclusive of; Openness, Collaboration, Respect and Empowerment and be committed to the provision of OT services and activities across the wider hospital.People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.Candidates will need to meet the following criteria: Qualification recognised for registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia and demonstrated experience as an Occupational Therapist Level 2 or above.
Demonstrated extensive skills and experience working with people with complex, enduring mental health challenges.
Possesses knowledge around quality improvement in an adaptive culture that strives for continuous professional development Leadership to provide ongoing support and supervision for junior members of staff.
