As a Senior Occupational Therapist Clinical - Statewide, you will be responsible for leading and conducting specialised projects in the area of student engagement and wellbeing, and providing support and mentoring to OTs across the state to provide safe, effective and high quality services to students with disability. You will provide expert guidance in evidence-based practices to enhance student learning outcomes, and maintain a defined proportion of clinical caseload within your geographical location. This role is under the supervision of the Senior Advisor Occupational Therapy. This position is offered on a temporary full-time/part-time basis for a period of 2 years unless otherwise determined.

Your Role: As the Senior Occupational Therapist (Clinical), you will:
Support other occupational therapists across the state and schools within your region to use complex clinical evidence-based occupational therapy to achieve student learning outcomes. Provide professional leadership and high levels of expertise in specific or specialised clinical aspects of school based occupational therapy services to others across the department. This is a temporary role for 2 years. Location would be negotiated with successful applicant.
Responsibilities include: Provide professional advice to the Statewide Clinical Manager, Senior OTs and departmental OTs on policies, systems and practices related to the OT role in maximising student engagement and wellbeing, which would include supporting students with complex behaviour. Identify the needs of school based OTs in the area of student engagement and wellbeing, and provide evidence based training and resources to occupational therapists to ensure best practice in occupational therapy service delivery. Provide expert clinical advice and mentoring to OTs across the state in the area of student engagement and wellbeing. Lead and conduct specialised projects and innovative research activities, relating to the delivery and continuous improvement of occupational therapy services within schools, and which demonstrate the impact of the OT role in student engagement and wellbeing. Collaboration with OTs and other professional groups and stakeholders in developing and promoting the OT role within a multi tiered system of support.
