As a Senior Occupational Therapist (Clinical) - Statewide, you will be responsible for leading and conducting specialised projects in the area of occupational therapy clinical practice education for occupational therapy students from tertiary institutions, and providing support and mentoring to Occupational Therapists (OT) across the state to supervise high quality clinical practice education placements within the Department of Education (DoE) OT service context. You will also maintain a defined proportion of OT service clinical caseload with schools and students with disability within your geographical location.
This vacancy is for a temporary position for 2 years, unless otherwise determined and can be filled either full-time, or multiple part-time fractions totalling 1.0 FTE (38 hours/week). This position is flexible in location.

Your Role: This is a temporary role for 2 years. Location would be negotiated with successful applicant.
Responsibilities include: Provide professional advice to the Statewide Clinical Manager OT, Senior and Supervisory OTs and departmental school based OTs on preparing, constructing, supervising and evaluating high quality university student placements, that contribute benefits to the strategic priorities of the department, the occupational therapy service to students and schools, and the clinical practice education of the tertiary students on placement. Identify the needs specific to school based OTs in the area of clinical practice education, and provide evidence based resources and support to occupational therapists to engage in supervision of practice education. Provide expert advice and mentoring to OTs across the state in the area of contemporary occupational therapy clinical practice education in the DoE OT service context that actively shapes the models and types of placements, and builds capacity for increased number of placements offered by the DoE OT service in metropolitan, regional, and remote settings. Lead and conduct specialised projects and innovative research activities relating to occupational therapy clinical practice education in the DoE OT service context which demonstrate the impact of high quality OT placements on strategic priorities of the department, the occupational therapy service to students and schools and key stakeholders including universities. Collaboration with OTs and other professional groups and stakeholders (internal and external) in developing and promoting OT clinical practice education placements in DoE. High level communication and collaboration skills across internal and external stakeholders. High level skills in providing evidence based OT service to students and schools.
