Senior Occupational Therapist (508243)

Details of the offer

Respecting diversity is the foundation of everything that the Department of Health does. This allows us to instil trust and collaborate through honest and fair communication and helps cultivate an environment of growth and innovation. We strongly encourage applicants from key communities including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, LGBTIQA+ people, and people living with disabilities. The role: Develop your skills in specialist inpatient geriatric evaluative medicine (GEM), leadership, and service development. Work in a collaborative multidisciplinary team. The Royal Hobart Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a permanent full-time Senior Occupational Therapist to join the newly established Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM) ward on Peacock 1 at the Repatriation Hospital site. In this role, you will provide services to 22 sub-acute inpatients on the ward predominantly GEM, with some Palliative Care beds, whilst being an active member of the team to positively impact older people's lives. You will be working with and supervising a rotational occupational therapist and an allied health assistant and be supported by a Clinical Lead providing expert clinical support and mentoring. Experience working with older people will be highly regarded, and we will continue to support professional development including participating in our Occupational Therapy Services education program weekly. As a leader in our team, you'll also have the opportunity to shape the future of our profession, mentoring junior staff and supporting the development of occupational therapy students. If you're ready to embrace a fulfilling career in a truly exceptional place, we'd love to hear from you. Join us in Tasmania, and be part of something extraordinary! The service: The Occupational Therapy Service includes over 90 team members consisting of occupational therapists and assistants, play specialists, diversional therapists, carpenters, and administration officers. We work across acute, sub-acute, and community settings, including the Royal Hobart Hospital, the largest teaching Hospital in Tasmania. Here, you are encouraged to be your authentic self, to pursue your passions, and to bring your clinical and world knowledge to the table to contribute to making our team one that punches above its weight with progressive and impactful care. We are small enough in Tasmania for you to shape and influence your work and make a real impact every day. Yet we are big enough for you to feel part of something important, somewhere you can belong and be surrounded by diversity, innovation, and friendships. We'll look after you from the very beginning, ensuring you are fully inducted and welcomed into our team and into our culture. We'll tell you where to go for dinner, and on your days off. And we'll invest in your growth, with time, resources, and expert colleagues available to help foster your development.
