The role: Develop your skills in specialist inpatient geriatric evaluative medicine (GEM), leadership, and service development. Work in a collaborative multidisciplinary team. The Royal Hobart Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a permanent full-time Senior Occupational Therapist to join the newly established Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM) ward on Peacock 1 at the Repatriation Hospital site. In this role, you will provide services to 22 sub-acute inpatients on the ward predominantly GEM, with some Palliative Care beds, whilst being an active member of the team to positively impact older people's lives. You will be working with and supervising a rotational occupational therapist and an allied health assistant and be supported by a Clinical Lead providing expert clinical support and mentoring.
Experience working with older people will be highly regarded, and we will continue to support professional development including participating in our Occupational Therapy Services education program weekly. As a leader in our team, you'll also have the opportunity to shape the future of our profession, mentoring junior staff and supporting the development of occupational therapy students.

The service: The Occupational Therapy Service includes over 90 team members consisting of occupational therapists and assistants, play specialists, diversional therapists, carpenters, and administration officers. We work across acute, sub-acute, and community settings, including the Royal Hobart Hospital, the largest teaching hospital in Tasmania.

Permanent, full-time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Salary: $106,966 to $123,013 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No.2 of 2022 . You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
