About the Role As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will play a pivotal role in providing specialist occupational therapy assessment and intervention, assistive technology (AT) prescription, and NDIS recommendations for complex patients. Your expertise will be critical in ensuring that eligible individuals receive the necessary supports through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) or My Aged Care.
You will work within a multidisciplinary assessment team, collaborating closely with disability liaison staff and CALHN Allied Health to deliver specialised services to complex patients in SA Health's Ward 2A. Your role will involve significant autonomy and decision-making as an expert in your area of practice.
Key responsibilities include: Provide Specialist OT Services: Deliver expert occupational therapy, including AT prescription and NDIS recommendations, to ensure the best possible care for complex patients. Manage Daily OT Operations: Coordinate and supervise daily services to maintain efficient, effective, and high-quality clinical care. Advocate for Clients: Address and inform on key issues impacting your client group, ensuring their needs are met. Mentor and Lead: Guide less experienced OTs and Allied Health Assistants, fostering professional growth and excellence in care. Collaborate on Research and Improvement: Work with Clinical Seniors to enhance clinical practice through research, evaluation, and service improvements. Oversee CALHN OT Portfolio: Manage a relevant portfolio, represent CALHN on committees, and contribute to critical projects. Lead in the OT Network: Play a key leadership role within the CALHN Occupational Therapy Network, driving advancements in client care and service delivery.
