Medforce is seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist on a part-time basis to join a friendly, dynamic, supportive Children Disability Service in Tullamore.
Contract: This is a 6-month contract (with a view to extend), part-time hours Monday – Friday, 17.5 hour working week plus excellent benefits including free onsite parking, incremental HSE pay-scale, generous annual leave entitlement, and CPD opportunities.
Main duties of the job:
Assessment and Intervention: Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized intervention plans for children with diverse disabilities, focusing on enhancing their functional abilities and participation in daily activities.
Collaboration: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, and social workers, to ensure a holistic approach to care.
Family Support: Provide education, training, and support to families and caregivers, empowering them to facilitate their child's development and participation in home and community settings.
Leadership: Mentor and supervise junior occupational therapists and therapy assistants, providing guidance and fostering a collaborative learning environment.
Program Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative therapeutic programs and services that address the evolving needs of children with disabilities.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress reports in accordance with professional and organizational standards.
Continuous Professional Development: Stay abreast of the latest research and best practices in pediatric occupational therapy and apply this knowledge to improve service delivery.
Essential Criteria:
A BSc in Occupational Therapy or an equivalent CORU registered Occupational Therapy qualification.
Be CORU registered.
Excellent communication skills and ability to interact well with children and young people.
Have enthusiasm, imagination, and initiative.
Full Clean Driving License with use of a car.
