About the role This position reports directly to the Chief Engineer, R&D at Tritium and is based in Murarrie, Brisbane.
As the Senior NPI Engineer for Charger Level Product Transition, you will lead the transition of new DC fast charger designs to our production facility.
This role requires extensive experience in power electronics and a solid grasp of the complexities involved in transitioning products from development to full-scale production.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and meet quality, cost, and timeline targets.
Key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to: Collaborate with product development to understand requirements, roadmaps, and design specifications.Lead the NPI process for charger-level product transition, including project scope, planning, risk management, and execution.Participate in design freeze reviews, ensuring design completeness, cost alignment, and production readiness.Use design-to-cost strategies for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness, working with cross-functional teams.Coordinate with the supply chain to identify critical components, assess suppliers, and develop a procurement plan.Prepare production facilities, equipment, and personnel, ensuring adherence to best practices in DFM and DFA.Develop, implement, and oversee testing protocols at manufacturing facilities (EMS and Tritium Tennessee).Execute tooling trials, configuration management, technology transfer, and production verification testing.Work with quality assurance to implement control processes, ensuring products meet required standards.Lead ECM during the PVT phase, ensuring changes are documented and implemented efficiently.Support production ramp-up, monitor pilot runs, and address issues promptly.Act as the primary liaison with manufacturing facilities, conducting site visits to support ramp-up and resolve issues.Document all NPI activities and provide regular status updates to management.Oversee final product release and full-scale production transition.Implement continuous improvement based on feedback and lessons learned.Utilize PLM and ERP systems for BOM management, tracking changes, and documentation accuracy.Confidently interpret technical drawings, including Altium schematics and SolidWorks outputs.Communicate technical concepts and project status to stakeholders clearly.Stay current with advancements in DC fast chargers and EV technologies to drive innovation within the company.Ensure products meet regulatory requirements, certifications, and ISO9001 quality standards.About you Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.Minimum of 8 years of experience in product introduction, manufacturing engineering, or related fields.Proven experience in transitioning complex power electronics products to production.Strong knowledge of DFM, DFA, automated testing, EOL testing, and IQC testing.Excellent communication, project management, and problem-solving skills.A strong grasp of the product development lifecycle for complex systems.Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Proven track record of being hands-on in a manufacturing environment, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues on the factory floor.Willingness to travel to manufacturing facilities as needed, ensuring a smooth product transition.Exceptional attention to detail in managing BOMs, testing protocols, and technical documentation.What's on offer Competitive salary packageA diverse range of learning opportunities and career pathsSupportive and friendly team with regular social eventsCareer growth and developmentFree employee assistance programNovated LeasingFlexible working to accommodate your work-life balance by agreementUtilise our secure bike storage and shower facilities offered on siteTritium is an equal opportunity employer.
