Role Overview The Senior Network Operational Technology Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the organisation's network infrastructure. The position ensures the stability, security, and performance of the network, while leading strategic network projects, troubleshooting complex issues, and mentoring junior engineers. Additionally, the Senior Network and Operational Technology Engineer plays a pivotal role in integrating Operational Technology (OT) systems, ensuring seamless network and OT operations across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and highly available network solutions that meet business needs; Continuously monitor and maintain network systems for optimal performance, addressing issues proactively; Conduct regular network upgrades to improve efficiency, capacity, and security, ensuring compliance with security policies; Collaborate with the Cyber Security team to implement robust security measures, protecting the network from threats; Provide advanced technical support, resolving incidents and outages, analysing root causes, and improving network services; Manage external vendor relationships, maintain accurate documentation, and align network solutions with business needs through stakeholder collaboration. About you Your skills and experience will include:
Bachelor of Information Technology or equivalent level of skills and knowledge gained through experience; Extensive network engineering experience with expertise in Cisco routers, switches, site commissioning, and fault-finding; Strong knowledge of network security protocols, including firewalls, VPNs, NAC, IDS/IPS, and advanced routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS); Proficient in designing and managing complex network architectures (LAN, WAN, WLAN, data centres) with a focus on high availability, disaster recovery, scalability, and network virtualisation; Hands-on experience with wireless networks (5G, LTE), cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), and VoIP deployment, with expertise in QoS management and disaster recovery; Relevant certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE) are highly desirable, along with strong analytical and communication skills and vendor management; Ability to work independently or collaboratively, with a customer-focused mindset and a commitment to staying updated on the latest technology trends.
