Engineering - Network (Information & Communication Technology) Other (Education & Training) Full time $107,882 – $133,850 + 17% superannuation Permanent/Continuing, full-time appointment Level 8/9: $107,882 - $133,850 + 17% Superannuation Information Management & Technology Services (IMTS) is the University central IT provider, responsible for delivering to the campus community a robust infrastructure platform enabling the delivery of services and support in line with strategic and operational requirements.  The IMTS Division is seeking a highly qualified individual to join the Network & AV Team who are responsible for the design, implementation and ongoing support of the university's core network services which support the diverse research, teaching and corporate needs of the university.  The position of Senior Network Engineer requires extensive technical experience with a commitment to working in large teams to produce quality outcomes to develop a robust and scalable network adaptable to the future needs of the institution.  The Senior Network Engineer will require exceptional leadership skills with high level communication, problem solving and negotiation skills to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure continual development and support of voice and data services that meet client needs and industry best practice.  To be successful in this role you will need: Degree qualifications and or extensive training and experience  Expert technical leadership in design and implementation of network infrastructures and services in a large complex environment Knowledge, understanding and familiarity of Layer 7 applications, DNS, DHCP, modern IP based networks, Cisco ACI and SDA, site to site VPN, remote access VPN and NGFW's  The ability to assist with the skills development and career progression of less senior engineers. The successful candidate will design, manage and maintain a large, distributed network environment, across data centre and campus environments for both Australian and global sites, working in a busy environment with frequent interruptions, requiring the need to reprioritise work to meet changing demands and tight deadlines.  You will be dedicated to developing sustainable network operations through sound documentation, process development and providing mentorship to a diverse team of voice, data and system engineers of varying skill sets and backgrounds including staff based in global campuses, with a focus on career development in the network services discipline. You may be required to work outside of standard business hours to respond to critical incidents and urgent matters through an on-call roster arrangement and must hold a current Australian Drivers Licence.
