This role is all about bringing your technical networking expertise to the table to ensure secure, reliable, and well-maintained networking systems. You'll be a key player in the Infrastructure & Platforms team, reporting to the manager, and working on solving challenging problems while improving and safeguarding the network environment.
What will you be doing? Installing, configuring, supporting, and managing the lifecycle of various network equipment and devices such as Switches, Firewalls, WAPs, etc.Service Ownership of assigned Network ServicesEstablishing key network performance indicators and ensuring they are monitored to ensure network availability and reliabilityCoordinating the allocation of IP addressing, subnets, IP pools and VLAN allocationsManaging the operational integrity of IT networking infrastructures, ensuring availability, integrity, and securitySupporting IT Leadership with communication to business in regard to service availability, incidents, and changeAssume leadership responsibilities within the Infrastructure & Platforms team, when the Manager is away or on leavePlanning and executing network related maintenance and system upgrades including patches, hot fixes, and security configurationActively contributing to the definition, development and maintenance of network policies, procedures, and standardsConducting periodic reviews and audits across all key networking systems and devices Skills and experience required to succeed in this role? IT Network Administration/Engineering experienceStrong IT technical skills within the Networking domainProven experience in planning, design, development, and implementation of IT network infrastructuresA strong understanding of network security principles with experience in implementing security measuresDeep understanding and knowledge of networking protocols (e.g. IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS, DNS)Deep understanding and knowledge of network capability and concepts such as SDWAN, Wireless Networking, VLANs, Network Access Control, Load Balancing, VPNs etc.Working knowledge/understanding of ITIL principlesExperience working within compliance frameworks such as UK's Cyber Essentials (Plus), Australia's ISM, NIST, ISO27001, ITAR and export control Location of work: Canberra, Adelaide, or Melbourne
