We are looking for a skilled Network Engineer with a strong background in establishing and managing internet present networks, including peering relationships and interconnectivity. You will be helping to design and implement a large, green fields IP network across continents and data centres, procuring and managing hardware and ISP connections and peering relations.
Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and manage a large multi-data centre IP networking, including peering and interconnection strategies with ISPs and IXPs. Configure and maintain BGP sessions, including route filtering, policy enforcement, and traffic engineering. Negotiate and maintain peering agreements with external network providers. Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimise routing and traffic flows. Ensure network security by implementing best practices and up-to-date protocols. Maintain detailed network documentation and provide regular reports on network health and performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including security, data centre, and DevOps, to support business objectives. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). 5+ years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on internet peering and interconnectivity. Proven experience in setting up and managing BGP peering sessions and interconnection agreements. Deep understanding of BGP, OSPF, and other relevant internet protocols. Strong knowledge of IP addressing, subnetting, and route optimization techniques. Experience with network monitoring tools and platforms. Experience with cloud providers, specifically AWS. Familiarity with network security best practices, including DDoS mitigation and secure routing. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. #J-18808-Ljbffr
