Pathology (Healthcare & Medical)
Government - State (Government & Defence)
In Collaboration with the Molecular Management Committee, determine the procedures and methods to be used in the section through the application of highly developed scientific skills in microbiology and virology, and be responsible for the initiation and supervision of research projects that have been identified as being of clinical relevance to Pathology Queensland.
Organise instrument repairs and preventative maintenance followed by validations to test to check fit for purpose.
Key competencies (role specific criteria)
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:
Demonstrated advanced level of knowledge, expertise and skills in high throughput molecular diagnostics in a pathology setting.
Skills in developing and validating assays in molecular diagnostics within a Microbiology laboratory.
Demonstrated ability to provide advice state-wide on a broad range of issues pertaining to service delivery and results issued by the Infectious Disease Laboratory.
Demonstrated ability to provide scientific services to ensure the maintenance of regulatory clinical. standards and established principles/procedures.
Demonstrated ability to lead change through quality and service improvement activities and provide supervision of personnel.
Qualifications, registrations and other requirements
Tertiary Degree in Science (or equivalent degree qualification)
While not mandatory, a Post Graduate qualification in Science and/or Management would be highly regarded.
